Since gaining limelight in 2014 after they were announced as one of the Fashion Focus top 15 Finalists, a platform championed by Lagos Fashion and Design Week, Gozel Green has evolved into a spectacular mixture of classic, alternative and contemporary fashion brand.
Founded by twin sisters - Sylvia Enekwe-Ojei and Olivia Enekwe-Okoji in 2012, the passion and drive to design clothing that would tell African stories in an unconventional, original and artistic way continues to drive every collection, design and creation. The brand targets women all over the world who are not afraid to stand out.
The twins were tremendously influenced by their artistic parents. Growing up for them was as close as to nature as can be. Their immediate surroundings were made up of hills, soothing weather, diverse and rich south-eastern Nigerian cultures, theatre displays, storytelling and a tint of influence from other cultures within Africa and in the world. It was an academic background with all its varied aspects that helped them discover their passion for creating art through fashion. Artistry, originality and timelessness play a key role in their designs. They represent many art forms including fabric deconstruction, color-blocking, lines and asymmetry.
